We, Kulturkampanjen, strive for:
Kulturkampanjen; part of a larger movementWe have looked to history and been inspired by many small and large movements. Movements far away and close to us. We have been inspired by struggles in the majority world against imperialism, the Indian Ghandinistas emancipation from Great Britain, the Spanish anarchist republic, just as the Zapatista struggle in Mexico, Indian farmers’ struggle for clean water, fight against demolition of forests and anti-war movements. We have also been inspired by different European housing projects, and see Christiania as a source of inspiration. We see ourselves as a part of a global movement for a more just and better world. Political thoughts – visionsWe want to participate in the creation of a society where words such as power, hierarchy, exploitation, violence and force no longer means anything. A society where these words are irrelevant and have become things of the past. Parliamentary democracy will and can not create this society for us. It has only created a continuation of the old dictatorial order – a new order of domination. An order where the authoritarian control of the citizens have become a more manipulative and self-regulatory kind of oppression. We want to take part in the creation of a non-hierarchical, self-organized society. We believe that different forms of free spaces can be established, where the users themselves, autonomous of the authority, run things, step by step and from below. In the longer run we believe that this can contribute to diminish the domains of authority. In our vision for the future the capitalist free market economy will be replaced by a market where the range of goods will be decided based on peoples’ and future generations’ needs. A market where unfair trade between rich and poor countries stop and where peoples’ thoughts and feelings will no longer be exploited. We do not believe in the way work is structured in the western world. We do not want to be part of the elite, neither be their assistants that work 8, 10, 12 or more hours a day. We do not want to be part of the multitude, the project- and short term-based employed, the ones who support themselves on fake jobs, are in retraining, the unemployed, the early retired. We believe that everyone should share the jobs and at the same time be able to participate in the creation of culture. We want to be involved in the creation of free spheres, of a multitude of autonomous initiatives, collectives, cooperatives, networks and creative nodes. We think that this work can be moved forward by non-violent means but respect every ones’ right to self-defense. With these goals in mind we consequently see our project as something bigger than the building of a social, cultural and political forum. We want to build something that affects our lives broadly, the way we live and work. We want to contribute to create a diversity of free spaces in our society. |
